Position: Librarian
Library: Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand
Description: Administers all aspects of the Firm's library and coordinates its information services. Responsible for management of the staff, collection, services, library planning, budget, equipment, and space utilization and design. Coordinates the development and application of library technology and resources.
Qualifications include Master of Library Science Degree, minimum of 5 years library management experience, including 1 year supervisory experience; law library experience preferred. Strong service orientation and the ability to collaborate with the Firm's lawyers, administrative and support staff. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Position: Professional Cataloger
Library: Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES)
Description: Environmental Services is seeking a professional cataloger with experience in technical cataloging that includes all formats of materials and the use of electronic databases. This is an independent, contracted service position, equivalent to full time; no benefits are paid. The focus of the position is to assist in the organization and cataloging of documents for access by MCES staff. The person will be involved in cataloging new material in various formats at 13 different collections at various locations within 15 miles of downtown St. Paul. Uniformity in the cataloging of documents across the organization is essential through the use of specific fields, title variations, authority descriptors, and writing abstracts as needed. After a period of adjustment to become familiar with the rules of the organization's cataloging, this person will be expected to perform without revision and regular supervision.
Additionally, the cataloger may be involved in the preparation of instructions for engineers, scientists and others on the use of the collections, or in the development of informational materials in the maintenance of these collections.
Requirements: M.A. in Library Science or equivalent plus six years of professional library experience in the area of technical cataloging. Must have a valid driver's licence. Because of security requirements at the locations of several book collections; the individual must be able to pass some security clearance.
